• Cooperation
with the German University of Münster
With regard to the discussion of sustainability
in the textile industry, eco-tex Institute has started a cooperation
with the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. |

Within
the faculty of Social Science eco-tex Institute is conducting
a seminar in the current semester 03/04 about sustainability
in the apparel and textile industry in developing countries.
Eco-tex experts will focus on the relationship between trade
and manufactures which have to face their interdependence in
developing sustainable strategies. This indicates a rethinking
on both sides if all stakeholders want and have to fulfill international
requirements, which should satisfy customer’s need, minimize
environmental load and protect worker’s labor conditions
especially in developing countries.
Starting with a theoretical discussion, eco-tex will present
its pragmatic sustainable management concepts, which should
assist manufactures in improving their performance in social,
environmental and quality issues. At the same time students
should realize a survey in order to analyze and evaluate customer’s
awareness with regard to their purchasing patterns on garment.
Besides this seminar aims to open student’s view to identify
alternative vocational fields in the private sector.
