CSM 2000

The CSM 2000 Management System is the basis for a sustainable positive development in quality, environmental, health & safety and social areas. Manufacturers are thereby provided with a transparent evaluation of their performance in these compliance areas.

CSM 2000 is based on one management platform, avoiding the problem of having to implement separate management standards for different single compliance areas. It gives the choice to modify the management structure according to the specific needs of the individual company. At the same time CSM 2000 is coherent with management systems already existing in the company like ISO. CSM implementation makes use of existing organizational structures and reduces implementation effort.

By not overloading the company with extensive manuals and affordable costs, it offers small and medium sized companies the chance for enhancing their performance in a sustainable way.

Integrating the supply chain into the CSM system ensures the fulfilment of requirements at their relevant production stages and thus provides the sustainability of CSM 2000. Following the principle that the problem should be tackled at the point of origin, this approach optimizes business relations with suppliers and can reduce the need of inspections & tests.

CSM 2000 contains a detailed, workable set of requirements that reflect the current international market requirements and national legal requirements of country of production. In addition to these requirements, the applicant is free to add requirements deriving from his customer Codes of Conducts and also his own company requirements.

These defined requirements are audited by selected internationally recognized TUV auditors as an independent third party audit. The certified company will receive a TÜV logo and report proving to customers and interested parties the high performance level of the company.

CSM 2000 is open for all industries of consumer goods, giving manufacturers the chance to demonstrate their performance in the areas of social responsibility, health & safety, environmental performance and quality assurance.

Complaint Service

A Complaint service safeguards the workers and employees from non-fulfillment of human and social rights. It handles the grievances of workers and employees strictly confidential and provides a safe approach for workers/employees through direct contact to an independent Complaint Service Center.

The advantage of complaint procedure protects the workers from any negative consequences by their employers as the complaints go directly to independent Complaint Centers. The verified genuine complaints are considered as non-conformities, which are listed in the Corrective Action Plan and the company is recommended to take corrective actions for the non-conformities registered from the complaints.

The Complaint Service helps the employers, as well as buyers and retailers in giving the arguments for the defense from any complaint made by media, news, or NGOs etc. Organization, buyers and retailers can argue that chances for complaints are given to the workers, if any non-fulfillment of the social requirements happens.

The Complaint Service is supposed to protect the company against external attacks to counter the allegations that the rights of employees are not safeguarded adequately. In the framework of the Complaint Service, the co-operation of non-profit organizations and business companies is utilized in order to initiate internal processes between company management and employees with an objective of improved relation. The eco-tex Consortium organizes Complaint Services in cooperation with local organizations in the manufacturing regions.

Sustainability Projects

The eco-tex consortium works towards achieving sustainability objectives in business and industry. It acts as a mediator between different interest groups, be it between the North and the South, be it between profit-oriented companies on one hand and non-profit institutions on the other hand. The global efforts to adjust the ways in which we trade and produce with regard to quality and other standards are often confronted by communication problems and interest conflicts. Information about one another is frequently absent, moreover, knowledge and skills to communicate requirements from the North to the South are often lacking. It is evident that economic relations are not restricted to mere economic facts and issues. Rather, a number of additional aspects are also implied in the big and the small picture, as for example environmental and social factors, or issues of education policy.

the eco-tex consortium develops and implements systematic & sustainable methodologies that should help conveying, to all interest groups and particularly to those in the developing countries, on how to do sustainable production and sustainable business. These methodologies always rest upon adjusted and system-based processes that are monitored continuously and motivated from inside.
