Following
eco-tex’s pragmatic philosophy, actual conditions
in an organization should be checked on
a regular basis. Weaknesses
should be identified and strategies developed to
help organizations, independent of their nature,
become independent and self-sufficient. The strategies
should follow principles of economic, ecological
and social sustainability. Analyzing actual conditions
can be parti-cularly helpful to organizations in
developing countries. The goal is to bridge the
economic and social gap between countries in the
northern and southern hemispheres.
In this context, the Consortium has established
its Project Services division. These services include
the development, consultation and putting into practice
of pilot projects in economic, environmental and
social fields for third parties in trade and industry.
This is done to encourage individual and collective
social responsibility and professionalism and to
encourage partners from developing countries to
become independent and self-sufficient. The eco-tex
Consortium is working on several specific projects
in this context, which are listed below. These projects
will be conducted in cooperation with other partner
organizations.
The Consortium conducts feasibility studies early
on in any project to make sure that ideas are practicable.
Eco-tex sets aside ten percent of every project’s
budget for administrative costs. The financial sustainability
of projects must also be planned for from the very
beginning. All projects are run in conjunction with
local partners and companies and governmental organizations
are constantly sought as partners to support participate
in the projects. The palette of services offered
by Project Services is completed by project-documentation
and marketing activities.
